Los Angeles, CA — In an exclusive excerpt from her upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me,” pop superstar Britney Spears has revealed the disturbing and heart-wrenching moments of her life during the 13-year conservatorship. The revelation, obtained by Time magazine, provides a sobering look into a side of the singer’s life that the world was largely unaware of.

Spears recounted a pivotal incident in 2008 when she locked herself in a bathroom with her son, Jayden, fearing she might never see her children again. Following this incident, her father, Jamie Spears, initiated the conservatorship, which placed him in control of her personal and financial affairs.

Britney describes her multiple attempts to reclaim her freedom while under conservatorship in the novel. She revealed, “I would be smuggled a private phone and try to break free,” when speaking about her attempts to maintain access to her cell phone. But I was constantly discovered. She openly confessed to feeling worn out and afraid while repeatedly being physically restrained. “After being confined to a gurney, I realized they could restrain my body whenever they desired. I believed they might have attempted to kill me,” she stated.

The pop icon also shared her feelings of surrender as her father took control of her life, stating, “I didn’t see a way out,” and describing how she felt her spirit was retreating from her body as she went into autopilot mode, hoping that compliance would eventually lead to regaining the life she longed for.

A decade later, Spears found herself in a similar situation when Jamie Spears pressured her into a rehab program in Beverly Hills. She revealed that her father threatened to take her to court if she didn’t cooperate, vowing to make her “look like a f***ing idiot.” Despite reaching out to her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, she received a disheartening response: “Stop fighting it.”

Britney Spears expressed her belief that her family saw her as a threat and might even attempt to harm her. She wrote, “This will sound crazy, but I’ll say it again because it’s the truth: I thought they were going to try to kill me.”

After several months in rehab, Spears returned home but remained under close scrutiny by her family. She described herself as a “shell of a human” and noted that she was still on lithium, which clouded her perception. “It crossed my mind that they were only visiting to finish off what they’d started a few months earlier, to kill me for real,” Spears confessed, highlighting the deep-seated paranoia she experienced due to her tumultuous journey.

These excerpts from Britney Spears’ memoir offer a poignant glimpse into the personal horrors she endured during her conservatorship. The upcoming release of her memoir is highly anticipated, promising to provide more insight into the challenges she faced during that period, and serving as a testament to her resilience, survival, and her ongoing battle for freedom. Britney Spears’ memoir, “The Woman in Me,” is set to be released soon, and the world eagerly awaits further revelations from the pop superstar’s life
